Birdy "Paintings"
I pretty much stalk Ashley Ann's Blog. I love all her DIY's and her kids are ADORABLE.

I wanted to try her Bird Painting out on some of my canvases. Scrapbook paper, a little Modge Podge and some paint. :) I love it.

My little brother loved the way mine turned out and he wanted one of his own.
A little more manly of course.

Printers Drawer
I always see all of these neat jewelry holders on Etsy.
I just cant justify paying $95 for one.
So when I found this for $20 I was ecstatic! :) :)

This will soon be a beautiful jewelry holder and my chicken wire frame can go back to being a collage.

Cabinet
I got this cabinet at a local antique mall. I thought I was getting a good price for it.. I now know better. Rookie mistake. :) I love it none the less though.

It was a little to blahh and one coated white paint for me.
I decided that I needed to strip it.

Let me warn anyone out there who thinks the "Do not let come in contact with skin" label on paint stripper is joking. This particular day I decided to try out an aerosol kind. I was spraying and walking around the cabinet just as my fan I had going in the garage was blowing my way and a mist of paint thinner came across my legs. To say the least it burned. My legs now have some sweet welpy like marks on them. :(

When I got the white paint off I discovered that someone had stained this booger GREEN.
I didnt even know they made green stain. It looked like baby poo. I sanded through all that green though.

I have since repainted it a creamier white an stained the top and bottom a dark brown. I'm still working on painting though, just thought I would share though.
I love the doors on it and they will soon have beautiful glass knobs on them. However my local Hobby Lobby is always out when I go. There must be someone else in my small town with an obsession for them. Hmmphh.

Something Blue

I had a rather large amount of paint left over from painting the bathroom floor. So lots of things around my workshop got painted blue.

I found this little side table in my garage burried under some junk. It was brown and ugly.
I decided I was going to try a crackle finish on it.
I found a tutorial on youtube, and it envolved mixing elmers wood glue and water.
It said to mix it up and then paint over it with whatever color you were using and then wait.
(It also said heat would help too)

I got no crackles from this process. :( I shall try again though.

I also made an old shelf out of some old barn wood lightly painted blue.
Its held together with L shaped brackets & some hooks screwed into the bottom.

The Workshop

My "workshop" is the size of a garage stall. (I think its 10'x17' but I'm not completely sure)
It was closed off and air conditioned to be an office. It never got used for that though so I have adopted it as my workshop. It generally is a mess.

Chicken Wire Frame

I like the old and rustic. I like things to be beat up a little bit. Gives them character I think.
I never can find big huge frames cheap. Well, for what I think is cheap. So when I saw this bad boy at a resale shop for a whopping 5 bucks I knew I had to have it.
I took it home and stabled chicken wire to the back of is and made a collage on it.

Later I decided it would be better suited holding some of my jewelry.

The possibilities with it are really endless though.

This && That
I wrote all the posts currently on this blog months ago. I never posted them though I just left them in the drafts phase. Thinking no one would see them even if I did post them.
Today (as like every day) I was doing my daily blog creeping while at work. When I got to Miss Mustard Seed I started scrolling throught the Friday linky party and decided that I wanted to participate in all that goodness. :) So I came to my blog and I started reading through, changing and publishing the posts I had made.
Please forgive the horrible mostly iPhone photography on here. This was before I was really getting into the world of staging and photography with my finds and refinishes.
I am going to try and post more pictures and detailed instruction on how I do things.
I know thats how I like things to be when Im reading through blogs. :)
